Cherry Orchard Barns, Holiday Lets, Herefordshire
Set on a working fruit and livestock farm in the midst of beautiful rolling countryside overlooking a lake.
When I first visited Cherry Orchard Barns only two of the four barns were completed, the remaining two were simply agricultural barns. My task was to completely furnish them to a high standard suitable for rental purposes. Working closely with a great builder and his team we set about retaining as many original features as possible from oak beams, roof trusses and stone walls together with sympathetically adding new features that would look as though they had been there forever. The key was to be able to offer the possibility of renting a single barn or the whole courtyard or four barns for larger groups.
“….all I can say is that your work has been absolutely wonderful. The finish to our four barns is way beyond our expectations” Clive Richards OBE
Sweetheart
This barn only had two walls when I started work with the builder and architect. A blank canvas although it was important to recreate and use as many original features as possible in keeping with its surroundings. We also had to bear in mind that this barn needed to have wheelchair access with disabled facilities.
I used wooden oak flooring throughout except in the main bathroom where we had some fun with amazing floor tiles and wooden panelling. The large master bedroom was perfect for great furniture and accessories.
I used country fabrics with a twist, a neutral palette with pops of yellow and olive greens. In the sitting room I used two large mirrors to make the area feel more spacious.
