Converted Barn, Hampshire

Moving from a family home in Devon to this newly converted barn was a challenge for my clients whose children had grown up and left home and over the years had accumulated an eclectic mix of furniture none of which was to come with them to their new home.  A blank canvas can be a daunting experience. 

Using a palette of calming neutrals with accents of colour our priority was to create a home that could accommodate family life but also not feel empty when the whole family and house was not in use.  Due to the nature of the barn there was a large landing where we created an additional media space, perfect for the boys to watch rugby or to sit quietly and read a book, leaving the downstairs sitting room as a separate area to snuggle up by the fire.
